History

1970

Our organization was established by parents of students enrolled at Lakeland School in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. The plan was to provide a place their children could go for meaningful daily activities and personal growth after graduating from Lakeland School.

1972

The organization officially opened its doors as the Walworth County Achievement Center and the new Day Services Program for adults with disabilities was launched.

1973

The first subcontracted work from

local companies began.

1975

The organization was renamed to Vocational Industries and incorporated as a non-profit organization.

1989

Vocational Industries moved the transportation department in-house; the big blue busses become a bit of an icon for the organization.

1994

1st Annual Golf Outing took place generating proceeds of $25,000.

2004

Organization's name changed to VIP Services, Inc. and our mission statement was updated.

2007

VIP Services, Inc. moved into the newly renovated, and current, location at 811 E. Geneva St in Elkhorn, WI. Medium and mini busses replaced our trademark big blue busses.

2012

VIP Services, Inc. launched its Facebook page and redesigned the organization's website. The organization purchased its first mini vans through a grant and the fleet continued to grow.

2014

Transportation was awarded a county contract to provide transportation for medical appointments, dining and shopping centers to seniors, individuals with disabilities, and veterans that were residents of Walworth County; doubling the number of trips practically overnight!
